The beautiful San Francisco skyline directly across the bay from the antiques faire. It was a little hazy and chilly when I took this picture around 7:45am, but it turned out to be a gorgeous winter day in the high 60's.
When will I ever learn to carry an extra camera battery? It died on me after just a few pictures.
This space was full of beautiful sea shells and coral.
I never considered buying this old cash register, but I was loving the detail and patina. The dealer told me it took four people to lift it off his truck.
My purchases.....
I'm really trying to keep from filling up the other half of my garage, so I behaved myself and limited my purchases to items that don't take up a lot of space.
I'm a sucker for old frames, especially the round and oval ones. These two will eventually get a chalkboard or burlap insert.
The chippy hand painted black box is actually the top of a little old table; the opening at the top is where the drawer used to be. I got it for next to nothing because the bottom (back side) is falling apart. I think it will be perfect for holding papers after I glue it back together. I liked the rusty green paint on the small chicken feeder.
A small stash of rhinestones.
Typewriter keys and the sweetest little pieces of lace.
These will keep me busy for a long time.

I'm always happy to find old hardware to repurpose.
My first necklace of 2012.
I used one of the curtain rings, a watch case filled with pearls, watch fob, and an unidentified little gadget.

Betsy! You always find such great things! I am so jealous down here in Texas where the pickings have been little to none lately!
You did good!! Love the stash of bling. I need a warm, sunny day and a good flea market close by.
Oh you are the best treasure hunter! I'm liking it all, especially the frames...can't wait to see how you repurpose them! Thanks for sharing your finds! Take Care! Hugs
I love the table/box!

Love the new necklace! I have some of those cool rectangular shaped curtain 'rings' too. Great the way you used it. Didn't even think about them when I made a charm necklace for my daughter last week. (I did take pictures and hopefully I'll make a post.)
But I originally thought I'd try encasing something in resin in them. Haven't worked with resin before so not so sure how I go about it.
Thanks for the inspiration, Happy New Year, Susanne.
Great finds and love your necklace. I have a little stash of those square curtain rings I was thinking of working into a crochet necklace. I'm going to have to hunt them up and get to it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Love repurposed jewelry especially when it looks as pretty as this!
This sounds like a great way to spend the first day of the new year! All the little metal things would have come back with me also, you got a lot great things.
Enjoy creating in 2012,
Lisa
Love the treasures you found. Not a thing there I wouldn't have bought myself. Those watch faces are fantastic. Just bought a bunch for a friend but had to go through Etsy to get them. Your necklace is a wonderful piece. - Lisa
Hi Betsy, Spending the day at an Antique Faire sounds like a dream start to me. The cash register is so beautiful but I bet it was very, very expensive. I love the frames and everything else you found. Have fun creating with your new treasures!
Hugs,
Julia
I had a feeling it was Alameda as soon as I saw your first photo. How wonderful to be able to shop outside in January with those beautiful views in the background. Alameda is on my to-do list for 2012 -- I miss it! happy new year!
Feliz Ano Nuevo my sweet friend!!!
I am soooo jealous of your wonderful shopping trip. Mr. CB and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on Monday and we had planned a trip to San Fran where we spent our honeymoon, unfortunately life got in the way. Maybe for our fifteenth. I love all your finds Miss Betsy, I hope I can meet you there next year.
Big Hug,
Irma
Betsy those are all so fabulous! That cash register was super cool and would be neat in a shop. The frames though are my favorite! Thanx for coming to party!
WOW! Look at all of the clock faces! I know you'll have so many creative ideas! can't wait to see! Hugs! ♥
I wish I had been on this shopping trip with you! It looks like so much fun with all the goodies you are showing!

Love the bits and pieces you picked up. Of course, I love the frames. Nice hunting.
Just found your blog! So lovely! I adore the pearls in the watch case on your necklace. How to you put them inside? I am clueless! Hugs and Tweets!
Now that's the way to start the New Year! Great finds! I love the necklace, especially the pearl-filled watch case. The watch fob is a nice piece, too.
That hardware and those rhinestones - oh my! Are those little square cafe curtain clips? What a great idea to incorporate those into jewelry. I am a fool for picture frames too!
I just stumbled onto your blog. I love your things. I am a costume jewelry hoarder and probably have well over two hundred pounds of it. There is something about it that pulls me in every time. I also have bits and pieces and you have done such amazing things. It almost makes me feel like I want to be creative.
What a wonderful vintage cash register. It would look perfect in an old general store setting. Lovin' all the treasures you found, Betsy...especially the oval frame. I've been looking for one for months, but to no avail.
Blessings,
Liz @ The Brambleberry Cottage
