You have to know by now that I have a weakness for little storage compartments, drawers, and boxes. It's almost impossible for me to pass up anything with rustic charm that would be good for displaying decorative accessories or for storing my supplies. As soon as I spotted this beauty at The Paris Flea Market last weekend, I knew it had to be mine.
It's a good thing I arrived early for my shift because it gave me time to slap a sold ticket on it and move it behind another piece of furniture for safe keeping.
2 1/2' wide, almost 3' high, and 24 cozy cubbies waiting to be filled with treasures.
The base is twice as wide as the top, so it won't shouldn't topple over when it's full.
It looks to me like she took the back off to paint the inside. Smart move.
I'd love to take credit for the addition of the jute webbing, but it came that way. A perfect addition don't you think?
I'm still debating on where to put it. It will either be going in a guest room, on top of a desk I have in the front entry, or in the family room. I can just see it full of ornaments for Christmas, gourds for Thanksgiving, maybe a few nests in the spring, and a lot of little junk year-round. So many possibilities.
I've had a passion for all things vintage and unique for as long as I can remember. Back in the mid 90s I started repurposing all the strays I adopted and then began selling my salvaged treasures at local antique markets. My inspiration comes from the thrill of the hunt, the catch, and the interaction with my customers and fellow hunters.
